Azodicarbonamide is a colourless crystal at room temperature, soluble in acids, bases and organic solvents with good solubility.
It is easy to be exploded by heat or shock, and belongs to explosive substance.
Azodicarbonamide has strong oxidising property, it can react violently with combustible materials and easy oxides.
Uses:
Cyanogen chloride is an important intermediate for the production of highly efficient and low-toxic benzotriazole herbicides and pesticides, and also an intermediate for the production of fluorescent whiteners, polyester and other synthetic fibre dyeing with reactive dyestuffs.
It is also used in the production of synthetic resin, rubber, polymer antioxidant, explosives, fabric shrinkage inhibitor, surfactant and so on.
Mainly used in the preparation of reactive dyes, direct dyes, metal complex dyes, acid dyes and reducing dyes or disperse dyes. Such as direct sunlight-resistant yellow L-5R, active tender yellow X-6G, active tender yellow X-7G and other dyes.
Method of Preparation:
Azodicarbonamide is mainly prepared in the following ways:
Generated through the reaction of nitrous acid and dimethylurea.
Generated by the reaction of soluble dimethylurea and dimethylurea triggered by nitric acid.
Safety Information:
Azodicarbonamide is highly explosive and should be kept away from sources of ignition, friction, heat and other flammable substances.
Wear suitable protective gloves, glasses and mask when working with azodicarbonamide.
Avoid contact with oxidising agents and combustible substances during operation.
Azodicarbonamide should be stored in a sealed, cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
