4,4-Methylenedianiline CAS 101-77-9

4,4-Methylenedianiline

Properties.

1.It is a solid compound, white to light yellow.

2.It has high melting point and boiling point and is a relatively stable compound.

3.Low solubility in water, but better solubility in organic solvents.

Uses.

1.Mainly used as an intermediate of polyimide resin.

2.this compound is commonly used in industry as a hard polyurea formaldehyde resin crosslinking agent, used in the preparation of high temperature, corrosion-resistant industrial coatings, adhesives and plastics.

Preparation method.

It is usually made by reacting aniline and formaldehyde under alkaline conditions. First, aniline is oxidized to resorcinol in alkaline solution. Then, resorcinol undergoes a condensation reaction with formaldehyde to produce the target product 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane. The reaction process is carried out under appropriate temperature and pH conditions.

Safety Information.

1.Highly toxic and carcinogenic.

2.Prolonged exposure or inhalation of this compound may cause health hazards.

3.During use, it is necessary to strictly follow safety procedures, wear personal protective equipment and ensure good ventilation.

4.Avoid contact with skin and inhalation of vapors.
