Product Description

Shellac is a natural, edible resin secreted by the female lac bug on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. This versatile biopolymer is processed and sold as dry flakes or powder, which can be dissolved in ethanol to make liquid shellac. Renowned for its excellent film-forming, high-gloss, and adhesive properties, Shellac is one of the few commercially available natural resins. It is widely used across the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and industrial coating industries due to its GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status.
