Tert-butyl peroxyisopropyl carbonate is an organic peroxide.

It is a colorless liquid with a special aroma at room temperature.

Uses:

Tert-butyl peroxyisopropyl carbonate is mainly used as an initiator and crosslinker.

As an initiator, it can initiate free radical polymerization of monomers or mixtures for the synthesis of polymers and resins.

As a crosslinking agent, it can be used to increase the strength and durability of polymers, for example, to prepare crosslinked polyethylene.

Method of Preparation:

Preparation of tert-butyl peroxyisopropyl formate can be obtained by reacting isopropanol with tert-butyl hydroperoxide.

The reaction needs to be carried out at low temperatures and tightly controlled to prevent the formation of dangerous by-products.

Safety Information:

Tert-butyl peroxyisopropyl formate is a hazardous chemical. It should be stored and used in such a way as to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of its vapors.

Personal protective equipment such as protective gloves and goggles should be worn during use to ensure a well-ventilated operating environment.
